DRY SPELL IN SYDNEY.

SHORTAGE OF VEGETABLES. (United Press Association). (Received Nov. 10, 10.45 a.m.) SYDNEY, Nov. 10. Sydney has experienced a very dry hot spring. Suburban gardens have suffered considerably from numerous heat waves. The absence of rains of any consequenoe has had a disastrous effect on market gardens. There is a verv poor supply of green vegetables coming at hand and unusually high, prices arc ruling. As there are no prospects of rain the shortage may become even greater. - Since the end of September less than two inches of rain was recorded in the metropolitan area. In October 30 points were recorded, while the average for the month is "87 points. In September IGO points were registered or 127 below the average. The total for November so far is two points.
