THE WOOL SEASON

PROSPECTS FOR FIRST SALE. Wool for the flrst Auckland sale of the season, to be held on Friday, November 26, is coming to hand freely, although a number of out-back chips have been held up through bad weather. Shearing operations also have been seriously hindered owing to the frequent rains and it is doubtful whether the offering at the forthcoming sale will be equal to that of last November. Intermittent rain in the Waikato during the last six weeks has greatly interfered with the shearing of sheep and in consequence the first sales of the season will bo missed by many Waikato sheep farmers. It is stated that one ltaglan farmer has been waiting since the first week in October to complete his shearing, but owing to the unfavourable weather the work is not half finished. 'flic cost of keeping the shearers until the weather improves is an expensive item to many farmers. REGULATION OF OFFERINGS.
