ACCIDENTS & FATALITIES.
FACTORY MANAGER'S FATE. ROTORUA, Tuesday. A very sad accident occurred at Tokoroa on Sunday last, resulting in the death of Mr James Barron, aged 26 years, factory manager of the Tokoroa cheese factory. Just before dinner on Sunday he told his wife that he would go and oil the water-wheel, which is used to drive the machinery. An hour later his body was discovered under the wheel in the water race. At the scene of the accident wero a number of planks which had been made very slippery by the rain. It is supposed that the deceased slipped and fell into the race under the wheel, which is an undershot variety. He was thus held there. Mr Barron was Mghly thought of by the company and was most successful in the production of cheese. He won the Hardley Shield and tiic Lonsdale Cup for cheese. He leaves a wife and child.
AUCKLAND, Wednesday. The death occurred In the Auckland Hospital early jestcrday morning of Henry Denny, aged 52, who was found by the police sleeping out in the Domain at 5.30 on Monday morning. Denny was arrcsied on a charge of vagrancy and was taken to the police station where be was found to be in a state of collapse, a doctor ordering his removal lo ihe hospital. Dctilh was due largely lo exposure. CIIIIISTUIIURCH. Tuesday. The police now slate lhat Ihe real name of the woman victim of Ihe fatal motor smash on Yaldhurst Road was not Mrs Reed but Mrs Kve'y.i Blanch llildcbrand, aged 37 years, of Darflcld. She had been living apart from her husband for aboi.il fivu years. CISBORXE, Wednesday. A man named Williams, who arrived at Cisborne by car c-.t three o'clock this morning, was found dying in bed at a local hotel, at nine o'clock. A loctor and the police were called, but >y the lime they arrived life was jxtinet. Deceased was a painter by radc. His full name is not known. WAIROA, Wednesday. A car driven by W. Mitchell, while eturning from Nahukai to Waikoopu last evening, developed trouble nth the steering gear, and overturned, .inning one of the occupants, Mrs Sarerc, underneath. The driver escaped injury, but Mrs Rarcre is suffering from bruises, cuts and shock.
