RACING.
THE WAIKATO MEETING. MERRY DAY ARRIVES. The Wairarapa-owncd and trained candidate, Merry Day, arrived from the south this afternoon with the object Of taking part, in the principal distance handicaps at the Waikato Racing Club's meeting at Te Rapa on Saturday and Monday. The Merry Moment —Labour Day mare recently won the Wellington Handicap of eleven furlongs from a field of useful class. She likes the sting out. of the track.. The track at Tc Rapa will be in capital order on Saturday, providing no more rain falls. So far the visiting contingent is limited and no fast work of importance was undertaken Lhis morning. There should be some interesting gallops in the morning when several- horses will he sent against the clock, Ruapapa, who performed well at his last appearance on the local track is he'-e for the week-end racing and the Poiydamon horse was among those to be worked this morning.
