SIMPLE AND EFFECTIVE INSTRUMENT. FOR DE-IIORXING CATTLE. At the Farmers’ Go-opera live Auctioneering Company's exhibit at (lie Show can he seen the Renown Doliorner, a simple and effeeiive instrument designed for dehorning any beast irrespective of its age. The exhibit which is in charge of rM S. Armstrong, who is demonstrating the appliance to many farmers is proving of great ini crest in those concerned. The instrument is small and compact and can he handled by a boy once the animal to be operated upon is tied fast. There are no complicated parts, in fact, there is not one part which can get out of order. If necessary the machine can be taken apart and re-assembled in llic space of a few minutes. A fast screw which operates the cutting knife can be adjusted so that the smallest to the largest horns can be cut without any difficulty whatever. An advantage that this machine lias over tho or(lir ary lever dehorner is that it does not crush and shatter the horn. \\ i 1 It the aid or the Renown a straight, steady, clean cut is assured. lo dehorn young heifers it is only necessary to shorten iho controlling lever. In conversation with the inventor, Mi Armstrong, it was learned that practically every herd in the Waikato could bo dehorned with Ibis small and inexpensive machine, the price being only tn/10/-.
