ENTERTAINMENTS.

“THE INTRUDER” YO-NIGHT. Denis Kehoe, of “Mother Machree” fame, and whose recent production here of “Tiie Man From Toronto" was so enjoyable, will make a welcome reappearance 10-night in “The Intruder," a modern, up-to-the-minute comedy. The play is a satirical comment on pre-sent-day society, which ofttimes overlooks Kipling's dictum that “tiie colonel’s lady and Judy O’Grady are the same under the skin.” It serves to present Frances Kayhcr in an altogether pleasing characterisation of a young woman from the wild and woolly west, and the same after a comprehensive finishing process which has refined the exterior in a surprising manner, yet lias not gone far enough to remove tiie warm-hearted impulsiveness and native shrewdness of Ino original. Denis Kehoe shows a new side of his craft, and presents a picture of a man of affairs immersed in the process of making another million suddenly called upon lo direct the affairs of two strong-minded women. Ronald Riley presents the picture of a specialist—a delightful humbug who makes love to his lady patients because "they seem to like it and it does ine no harm." Gwen Dorise, as Mrs Gilsey, a lady full of cults and uplift, and ever on the look-out for a soul mate, is a keen satire on a certain class of woman. “Thu Intruder” is a decidedly novel comedy with an interesting story and many hearty laughs. Tiie box plan for “The Intruder" is at Lewis R. Eady's. NEW STRAND AND FRANKTON. Popular Tom Mix is seen at his best in “Tho Best Bad Man.” The action opens in New Orieans, hut quickly shifts to the West. Clara Bow, playing opposite Tom Mix, experiences some, of the most hazardous moments of her screen career, but tho little beauty never falters —even in tho face of genuine danger, when thousands of gallons of water pour over tier frail body as a huge dam gives way. Other members of the cast who have hair-raising experiences arc Judy King, Paul Panzer, Cyril Chadwick, Tom Wilson, Frank Beal, Tom Kennedy, and Buster Gardner. "Along Came Ruth," the second feature, is a bright comedy drama, starring Viola Danna. Seats should bo booked at Lewis R. Eady and Son, Ltd., or by 'phone 1422. MATANGI DRAMATIC CLUB. A reading of Bernard Shaw's “Pygmalion” will he given by the Matangi Dramatic Club in the Matangi Hall on Monday.
