THAMES HOTEL LICENCE.

QUESTION STILL AT ISSUE, AUCKLAND, Saturday. The question of the Thames Hotel license is still at issue. The Auckland Licensing Committee was engaged again all yesterday in hearing evidence against and in support of a application for the license for the new .Ambassadors Hotel in Quay Street. At 5.30 p.m. the matter was adjourned until 11 o’clock this morning. It is hoped to conclude the hearing some time to-day. Sir John Findlay, with him Mr Singer and Mr Stevens, represented the prospective licensee, Timothy Bcehan O’Connor, and tiie owner, Mr J. C. Glccson; Mr Johnstone appeared for 27 memorialists, and Mr Tuck for 127 memorialists opposing Hie application. Inspector Mcllvcney represented the police.
