CAMBRIDGE TROTTING CLUB. IMPROVEMENTS TO COURSE. ■ The Cambridge Trotting Club ■ intends making extensive improvements and alterations. to the grounds and buildings on the racecourse which it has recently leased from the Domain Mr J. E. Cliltty, the club’s architect, submitted plans of the proposed improvements to the Cambridge Domain Board at its meeting on Wednesday, and the rlans were unanimously approved. The plans were also approved by the Waikato Central Association. ' The principal alterations ’are the erection of an officials’ stand in the new “ bird cage," which is situated at the east end of the present grandstand. The ground floor will contain the secretary’s office, casualty room, judicial committee room, and weigh-ing-in room. Above this will bp the committee and stewards’ stand to accommodate about 100 people. This building is being erected with the anticipation of a further addition for a . members’ stand. There will he altera- • lions to the present grandstand, which will include the removal of the bar, ' which will be substituted by an up-to- ! date luncheon rijom with kitchen attached. Tne present home industries building will be-removed from its present site to a line dividing the inner and outer enclosures, and made into a bar with a partition, to serve both places. In close proximity the totalisator house will be erected with an additional 40 to accommodate'both enclosures. One hundred stalls are to be erected close to the loose-boxes. These will also be available for the Waikato Agricultural Association as stock pens during its show. Twenty-live stalls will also be erected in the "bird-cage." The architects have been instructed to call for lenders immediately, and it is anticipated that the whole work will be completed in about four months.
