Successful Dance,

The dance held in the Paterangi Hall on Thursday night of last week was a great success, both financially and socially. No doubt Ihn beautiful moonlight night was responsible for the large number of visitors from outside difytricts. The floor was in tiptop order, which, in conjunction with (lie music supplied by the “Melody Hoys" orchestra, from Tc Awamulu, left nothing to lie desired. The duties of M.’sC. were ably carried out by Messrs R. Foster and Geo. Finch. A bountiful supper, supplied by the ladies, added greatly to the evening’s enjoyment. Men’s Social Club. The Men’s Social Club mot in the old hall last Friday evening. There was a good muster of members, and

games of five hundred, cribbage, and ! ping-pong were indulged in. These } socials are now held weekly; light rcI freshments are served, and, together i with a good fire, make 'the evenings [ most enjoyable. I Bible Class Activities. i The Paterangi Bible Class attended in full force at a Presbyterian Church concert held in Ohaupo on Wednesday night of last week, in which a I number of tho local members took an active part. I understand the concert was in aid of the Ohaupo Presbyterian Church fund. The Show. That the Waikato Winter Show is appreciated by the farmers of Paterangi was evinced by the number who visited it this week. On Wednesday last the whole district appeared to he there. There are quite a number of exhibitors and prize winners from the district. Hockey Match. Glorious weather prevailed for the hockey match Paterangi v. Ramblers, Te Awamutu, which was played at Paterangi last Wednesday afternoon. There were quite a number of interested spectators. The local team defeated the Ramblers by 4 goals to 2.
