NGAHINEPOURI.

Hockey. On Saturday last the Ngahinepouri hockey team were defeated by Old Boys by three goals to nil in the first game or this year’s competition. Our team this season is comprised mostly of juniors, as we have lost the services of nearly all our old senior players. As the season advances tho play should improve and some keen games should result. Dairying. On Friday last the annual district meeting of the N.Z. Co-operative Dairy Co. was held in the hall, practically all the suppliers being present. Mr C. Cochrane was in the chair, and the company were represented by Messrs Parlane, Blackett and Kay. Mr Parlane gave a very interesting address, and dealt fully with all the workings of the company. Mr Blackett also gave a short address, and at the conclusion a number of questions were asked by the suppliers and were satisfactorily answered. The company appeared to be in a most satisfactory position and the suppliers on the whole seemed quite satisfied. Dance. On Monday evening a dance was held in the hall, and a most enjoyable time was spent. The night was an ideal one for dancing and there was a good attendance. Two competitions were held, the Winners being Miss Walker and G. Fletcher, and Mrs Stokes and R. Ridley. The ladies of the district kindly supplied tho music, while the duties of M.C. were carried out in an efficient manner by Mr C. Taylor.
