A SHOW SECRET.
THE REASON FOR ITS SUCCESS. The question is frequently asked byvisitors as to the reason for the supremacy of the Waikato Show over those held in other centres. The supremacy is undoubted, but to the uninitiated the cause is a secret. There is no harm in divulging this secret, however, as it is one which cannot be stolen. It is the secretary, Mr W. 11. Paul. Without Mr Paul virtually at the head of the organisation, it could not have attained the immense proportions which it lias, nor would it have had its continued triumph ever nearly two decades. The secretary's work is not all apparent. There is a tremendous amount of it hidden beneath the surface of the organisation.. The quiet penetration of his advertising schemes has reached right to the very spots which he has aimed at. The people of this district see little of the pamphlets, circulars and hills which lie sends out in thousands during the year. These arc designed for outside consumption and that they have been well digested is shown in the Show results. There are few secretaries possessing ihe initiative and showman’s instinct of “Bill” Paul, and to him the show and district owe much.
