Tiie welcome reappearance of (lie poullry section, which owing to the alterations to Ihe buildings had to be abandoned last year, is one of the features of this year’s fixture. Realising that lack of space was a difficulty confronting the poultry section the executive has not boosted this department more than was considered necessary to obtain sufficient entries for the space available. The entries total about 300, and the wide variety of birds on exhibition makes a splendid show. Tiic use of up-to-date pens has been obtained and'the birds are shown to the best possible advantage. The utility classes are as usual the most popular with exhibitors, and White Leghorns and Black Orpingtons comprise a big percentage of the total entries. There is no doubt but that the expense of staging a poullry show will be well warranted, for the sight of beautiful purc-brcd fowls is to many people one of the most attractive features of the exhibition.
