Yeslcrday marked the completion of the construction work for Lho extension of the Lake Coleridge hydroelectric scheme, as a res.ill. of which an additional 15,00 U kilowatts of power will shortly be available for the use of the people of Canterbury. The water from the Lake has not yet been turned inlo the new tunnel, and the new generators are not running, but tile civil engineering branch of iiie Public Works Department has completed its share of the work and handed over the job in good order and condition to the electrical branch. The total cost of lho elxension was about £35,000.
