THE NEW BISHOP.

AN IMPRESSION. A Timaru parish paper gives the following impression, written by Archbishop Julius, of the new Anglican Bishop of Christchurch (Dr. WestWatson) :—On Sunday last I came up for the day to meet Bishop WestWatson. Some three hours' talk gave me an opportunity of forming an opinion of him. I returned to London with a thankful heart, for I believe that you have a right good man. Attractive, cheery, likely to be very helpful to his clergy, and in the ways of learning and ability lo be what I never was, nor could be. But he is a Bishop, and no doubt has his vices. These were not in evidence, and I am confident that the diocese may look forward with great hopefulness to the advent of their Bishop. Last, but not least, he can laugh, and smoke a pipe."
