CUTTING TELEPHONE WIRE
JUDGMENT FOR PLAINTIFF. Mr J. 11. Salmon, S.M., gave his decision at the Morrinsville Court, Morrinsville, in a civil action concerning the telephone wires at Tahuna. The case was opened at a previous silting, when Charles Murphy, farmer, of Tatuanui, proceeded against Francis Harold Barnclt, farmer, of Taiiuna, for £25 damages, as the result of defendant cutting the private line leading to Murphy's farmhouse at Taiiuna.
j From Hie evidence it was shown that a disagreement occurred as to what share of the cost Murphy -should bear in the erection of the line, Murphy rbfusihsf to pay Darnell's demands, with the consequence that Parnelt cut the wire to Murphy's house. The case was adjourned by the Magistrate to give the litigants an opportunity of machine: an agreement Tin's, however, was not done. Tn delivering judgment, His "Worship said it was a foolish action oil tiie part of defendant to deprive plaintiff of telephone rommunicnlioh. Judgment was given for plaintiff for £lO and costs.
