Honour to Engineer. Mr n. C. Branch, engineer In the Morrinsville Borough, who has had n long experience in road making, both in Taranaki and Morrinsville was asked lo go to To Kuili to advise the Borough Council there as to the best way of forming and sealing its main street. Baptist Harvest Thanksgiving Services The Baptist Church held its annual harvest thanksgiving services on Sunday. The church was prettily decorated. The Hev. Maeky conducted the services both morning and evening. On Monday night a social was held In the church, followed by a sale of a large amount of produce, which sold remarkably well. During the evening the following items were contributed: Miss Wilton, violin solo; recitations, Mrs Northcote; song. Mr T. West: recitation, Mr Renshaw; song. Miss Willon; piano duct. Messrs Gifford and Fielder; song, Mr Kielder. Mr T. West presided. A very enjoyable evening was spent, and Ihe funds of the church considerably benefited. Fire Brigade. The members of Ihe Fire Rrigado who went to Dunedin lo compete at the "demonstration there, returned In Morrinsvillc on Saturday. Although not fortunate enough to win any of the competitions they competed in. they, unlike many of the others teams, never once incurred any penalties. They say that they learned a lot, and had a most enjoyable trip. The Kxhibition was better than they expected, and they would like to have had more time to spend in looking at ils many wonders.
