MURDER AND SUICIDE.

AN UNHAPPY UNION. BRITISH AND ARMENIAN. (Australian and N.Z. Cable Assn.) LONDON, March 15. The story of a vain attempt to reconcile Oriental and Western temperaments was related at an inquest concerning the deaths of a married couple named McQuakcr. A verdict of murder and suicide on the part of the husband was returned. The evidence revealed that the husband was jealous of his attractive wife, who appeared to be unable to accustom herself to English conditions after having lived a lavish life as the daughter of a rich Armenian merchant. The husband's father blamed the wife's father for taking his son's wife away. The Armenian had said in broken English: "My daughter is a slave to your son. She do the fire and wash the dish, so I take her away."
