PLUNGES OVER A BANK. 178 EXCURSIONISTS KILLED. MANY OTHERS INJURED. (Renter. 1 BOSTON. March 15. An excursion train was wrecked on Sunday between Alpoulea and Cartago, Costa Rica. One hundred and seventy-eight persons were killed and 75 others were injured. Three of the cars plunged down a 50ft. embankment. The train carried about 1000 passengers. It was owned by the United Fruit Company.
