WEDDINGS
S3KS—PATERSON. Roslyn (Dunedin) Presbyterian Church was the scene of a very pretty wedding on the evening of January 6 th, when Miss Sarah J. Frances Paterson, youngest daughter of Mr and Mrs Robert Paterson, "Reomoana." Littlebourne, was united in the bonds of matrimony with Mr Arthur William Pirns, son of Mr and Mrs S. B. Sims, of Hamilton. The Rev. E. J. Tipler officiated, and the "Wedding March" was played by Mr Lawrence Haggitt. The church was beautifully decorated by girl friends of the bride, arum lilies and purple and heliotrope cinerarias being used. The whole effect was completed with a large white bell. The bride, who was given away by her father, looked charming in a dainty frock of ivory georgette elaborately trimmed with lace. The train of finely-tucked georgette and lace was gracefully draped from the shoulders, and she wore the customary tulle veil, held in place by a wreath of orange blossoms. ' She carried an exquisite shower bouquet of Christmas lilies and cream roses. The bride was attended by Miss Mamie Paterson and Miss Ruth Burton (cousin), who wore twin frocks of lavender georgette, made on simple straight lines, with godets of accordeon pleats. They wore black crinoline hats finished with a large shaded ' rose, and carried beautiful bouquets of heliotrope and pink carnations. The little fair-haired flower girl—niece of the bride—Vlooked a perfect picture, dressed in a dainty frilled frock of heliotrope crepe de chine, a? best roan, and Mr Bruce Biby acted from the bridegroom. The bridegroom was accompanied by Mr Sydney Sims
as best man. and Mr Bruce Biby acted ac groomsman. A reception was held at "Reomoana." the guests being received by Mrs Paterson. who looked very handsome in a gown of royal blue charmcuse and black hat trimmed with ospreys. Owing to the illness of the bridegroom's mother Mr and Mrs Sims were unable to be present. The newly-wed couple left for the north en route for Hamilton and Rotorua, where the honeymoon, is to be spent. The travelling costume was of biege mhrooaln with pleated panels, and h French hat in tones of red and brown.
The popularity of the young couple may bo gauged by the extensive array of presents, which included a grand piano and many handsome cheques.
