BUTTER IN CANADA.

AUSTRALIAN TRADE TREATY. (Reuter.) OTTAWA, January 28. Replying in the House of Commons to criticism and charges to the effect that the Australian trade treaty is injuring the Canadian dairy industry, Mr. J. A. Robb, Minister of Finance, said only 600,0001 b. of butter had come to Canada from Australia and New Zealand since the treaty came into effect. During that period, the greater quantity of Canadian butter which was shipped to England was returned to Canada because of the shortage on the Canadian market.
