The Takapuna Jockey Club's Summer Meeting opened in perfect weather. There is a large attendance and tho course is good. Results:— TRIAL HANDICAP.—7 Furlongs. Killute (8.10) .1 Luxurious (7.12) t Appellant (7.12) t t Dead heat.
Scratched: Sir Henry, Aurumavis, St. Lucas and Tapuhi. Won by a short head. Time, 1.28. ZEALANDIA HANDICAP.—7 Pur. Uralla (7.0) 1 Alfort (7.61 2 Daylight (8.7) 3 Scratched: Arch Amie, Ring the B<cll, Aberfeldy. and Charlady.
Won by three-quarters of a length, a neck between second and third. Time, 1.27. Prince Abbey was coupled with Alfort. HAURAKI HURDLES.—I-i miles. Irish Jig (9.12) 1 Daddy's Girl (10.0) 2 Bustler (10.9) 3 All started. Won by half a head, the third horse a heck away. Time, 2.47 3-5. TAKAPUNA CUP.—li miles. Desert Glow (7.0) 1 Town Bank (7.11) 2 Transformer (7.7) 3 Scratched: RUapapa and Spoony. Won, by a length, half a length between second and third. Time, 2.37. FERRY HAODICAP, •a Nine furlongs. Curraghmore (7.10) 1 Brushwood Boy (8.5) 2 Hokioi (7.7 3 Scratched: Turn, Mangapiko, and Marble Mount. Won by a length anri a half, with three-quarters of a length between second and third.
