HAMILTON COUNCIL.
FORTNIGHTLY MEETING. In the absence of His Worship the Mayor, Mr J. R. Fow, Cr. W. F. Mason was voted to the chair at the fortnightly meeting of the Hamilton Council last night. Mr A. Mcßae advised acceptance of the Council's conditions re subdivision of the "Almadale", property. The borough solicitors forwarded formal resolution in regard to the surrender and issue of new leases of the block. —Approved.
Several local bodies wrote that the Council's representations in regard to the licensing of heavy motor tr&ff'C were receiving attention. The- Council consented to a transfer from Swanson to M.V. Machine Co. of lot 48 of 456 W. Works Committee Report.

A. .lohnston re subdivision Lots 215, and 215 a, Kirikiriroa, corner Thames Street and River Road, for F. J. Moore: That the suhdiv ; .-'on be appioved. P. S. McNaliy re claims fyr damage to car and cost of crossing: That the Council adhere to The' arrangement, which is for half the estimated cost of repairs. Mrs A. L. Peters re water supply Campbell St.: That if Mrs Peiers pays the cost of the necessary pipe from a point 30pft from the main to her property the. supply fac given and the sum paid for the pipe-line by Mrs Peters be refunded to her when anotne-.' consul er is connected. Borough Engineer re painting Traffic Bridge: That the matter of. painting the lattice arid handrails of the bridge in buff or white colour be left in the hands of the borough engineer. Borough Engineer re tenders -sewer drainage, Claude* lands area: That the borough engineer be authorised to call for tenders for the labour involved in laying the Claudelands sewer extensions and that the specifications contain a clause requiring the contractor to employ all unskilled labourers locally.
