There is fine weather for the second day of the Pahiatua races. The course is excellent and the crowd large. Results:—
TRIAL PLATE.—Six Furlongs. Crown Reel (8.0) '.. 1 .Sir Lucullus (8.0) ..' 2 Regal Star (8.0) 3 Scratched: Essential and Merry Wanderer. Won by a length, a similar distance between second and third. Time, 1.16 4-5. PONGAROA HIGH WEIGHT HANDICAP; Seven furlongs. Sarty, 9.6 1 Agitato, 10.13 2 Our Jack. 9.0 3 Scratched: Treadwell. Won by half a length. Time, 1-30.
