FORGERY ADMITTED.

ISSUE OF VALUELESS CHEQUE. COMMITTAL FOR SENTENCE. A married man. with four young children, Alexander Alfred Jesse Burling, pleaded guilty and was committed for sentence to the Supreme Court on a charge of forging a cheque for £2 10s. Evidence was led to show that the accused, who recently arrived from Oparau, made out a valueless cheque for £2 10s and inveigled the manager of a pawnshop to advance him 10s on it. When approached by Constable Sutton accused made a clean breast of the whole affair.
