AMERICAN DANCER.
VISITING SYDNEY. Quite unawares, and in very romantic circumstances, Sydney has been entertaining the foremost of America’s stage dancers (writes a correspondent), a charming young woman whose art, whose youth and beauty, and whose lovely frocks have captivated the Continent as well as her own country—Miss Leonora Hughes, now on her honeymoon in Australia as Mrs Carlos Basnaldo, wife of a South American cattle king. Unlike not a few stars in the theatrical firmament, Mrs Basnaldo dodged publicity, until one of the Sydney newspapers discovered her living quietly with her husband in one of the leading hotels.
