The Daily Telegraph's weekly financial review eays: "The fact that the Commonwealth obtained a loan in the United Satles should reassure those who were nervous concerning the autumnal demands for our gold, in view of the indignation from which we arc suffering, as evidenced by the discounting of the last two colonial issues, We see no ground for adverse criticism of Australia's new departure. On the contrary, we ought to be grateful to America for supplying Australian needs, providing stringent measures are. taken to prevent Amercan inlanders dumping their bonds here as soon as the loan is floated."
