NO CHANGE LAST NIGHT. STATEMENT BY MR COATES. CONDITION MUCH WEAKER. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) INVERCARGILL, Friday. Replying to expressions of sympathy the Hon. .1. G. Coates stated this afternoon that Mr Massey's condition was far from satisfactory, and that he was much weaker. The Minister said Mr Massey had a broad mind and a big heart, and put New Zealand first all the time. Hs appreciated their references to Mr Massey as a “true Britisher and a great Imperialist,” and would convey to Mrs Massey their expression of sympathy.
