BLACKBERRY PEST.
BONUS FOR EXTERMINATION. GOVERNMENT OFFERS £IO,OOO. By Telegraph.—Press Association. WELLINGTON, Friday. The Government in the Gazette offers a bonus of £IO,OOO for an efficient, practical and economical method of-.exterminating blackberry otherwise than by cultivation, or farm management methods, such as seeding, treeplanting or live stock manipulation. The tests arc to be made on areas of infested land of not less than one acre, applicants to state the sum required for the rights in New Zealand or the royalty to be paid for the use of their method.
