LIME YOUR LAND.

PRODUCE HEALTHY PASTURES. Soils deficient in lime cannot, it is universally agreed, produce healthy pastures or crops, or healthy stock. Successful farmers have discovered that by liming their soils with Te Kuiti Carbonate mixed with super or other manures is 'the sure road to prosperity. Light dressings regularly applied, they have further discovered, give Ihc best results. Lime makes other plant food available. It promotes healthy pasture beneficial to stock. Fertiliser without lime cannot give, full value. In this connection the farmer is advised to lime his land in conjunction with other manures. Carbonate of lime and superphosphate supply two well known deficiencies in soils. Light annual dressings will give good results. Carbonale of lime promotes the growth of lucerne, clover, and all other legumes. Nitrogen is thus secured Tree. The Ilauraki Plains, for instance, require lime and phosphates. Farmers, more especially in this district, should order Te Kutti carbonate of lime now and apply super later, or mix together and sow as basic super. The advantages to be gained by using the Te Kuiti product are numerous,''and it would be to the farmer's advantage to make a point of calling at the Te Kuiti Lime Company's stall at the Winter Show, which is situated in the motor annexe. At this shall the following substances can be inspected: Metal chips 5-Bth inch and i 4in, carbonate of lime and fowl and chicken grit. Two samples of concrete with Te Kuiti limestone, 6 to 1 and 9 'to 1, are on exhibition. This substance without a. doubt will appeal to public bodies and economical farmers, for the reason that the concrete so treated is an excellent and economical material for the laying down of concrete roads and floors. II is a departure entirely different from recognised methods. Some beautiful limestone crystals are also displayed at the stall. The pessimist who does not and further will not change his methods of bringing in his land (and yet is not satisfied with that which he is accustomed to use) should not fail when at Ihc Show to visit the. stall and read some of the testimonials of some, of the leading experts. All these authorities quote facts clearly illustrating Ihe extensive value of lime. Mr Wilson (the Company's representative), whose address is N.Z.
