MR THEODORE’S ADVICE
United Press .Association
BRISBANE, Dec. 10
Mr Theodore, addressing the Trades and Labour Council, explained that because of the economic consequences the Government had been unable to introduce a uniform 44-hour week. There were already 143 awards in force prescribing 44 hours’, which would be reduced another four. If such legislation were enacted lie urged the unions lo approach the Arbitration Court to demonstrate that existing production would be maintained if the hours were reduced and achieve their object in that direction.
