zev v. PAPYRUS. AMERICAN COLT FAVOURITE. Australian and N.Z. Cable Assn. NEW YORK, October 6. It is officially announced that Mr Harry Sinclair's coil Zev has been selected to meet the English Derby wiener Papyrus, in the match for £40,000, fixed to be brought off at Belmont Park, New York, on the 20th insl. Zev stands 16 hands half-inch, and has a stride of 22ft. The Jockey Club announces taht they have named My Own and Untidy first and second substitutes respectively in the event of sickness or disability, for which provision is included in the agreement. Papyrus had 'another easy day, Trainer Jarvis talcing him for the usual leisurely walk around the main track. Later he cantered five furlongs, followed by another short walk and another canter. Papyrus will begin serious work next week. Zev rules a great favourite.
