BANK MANAGER SHOT. TWO THIEVES SECURE £IBSO. United Press Association. MELBOURNE, October 8. ' While Mr Berriman, manager of the Commercial Bank at Hawthorn, was approaching the Glenferrie railway station, shortly before noon, he was accosted by two men, one of whom drew a revolver and shot him in the abdomen. The other-man then seized Mr Berriman's bag, which contained £IBSO, and the two escaped in a waiting motor-car, after threatening to shoot those of the crowd who , attempted to pursue them. Mr Berriman's condition is serious.
