N.S.W. CRIMES BILL.
PROPOSED AMENDMENT. United Press Association. Received October 5, 11.30 a.m. SYDNEY, October 5. The Crimes Amendment Bill will be tabled shortly by Hon. T. R. Bavin, Attorney-General. It provides for greater powers to deal witii sex crimes and the unlawful use of motor cars and other vehicles which at present are fair game for joy riders. Several prosecutions against ptrsons charged with clearing off with motors and their abandoning Ihem have failed because the Crown was unable to prove intention of stealing. The Bjll also provides that in certain cases a wife and a husband can be compelled to give evidence against each other.
