, By Telejjraph.—Press Association. AUCKLAND, Friday. A man named R. S. MacDonald was found dead in a whare at Karioi. The coroner (Mr Pilkington) held an inquiry, and returned a verdict in accordance with the medical evidence that death was due to valvular weakness of the heart. MATAMATA, Thursday. A shocking accident befel a lad named Bernard Swap, aged 12 years, son of Mr Swap, farmer, and buildins contractor, of Tc Poi, this morning. The boy fell from the milk cart when driving- home from the Sunny Park dairy factory, and both legs bicarne entangled in one of Die wheels. One leg was pulled off from the thigh. The.boy afterwards died. THAMES, Thursday. The body of Samuel "Vernon Dent, who was missed off a launch when going to Kerepeehi on Friday last, was discovered floating opposite the Shelly beach landing in the Piako river this morning by a launchman, who picked the body up and brought it to Thames. An inquest will be held. ELTHAM, Thursday.

A destructive fire of mysterious origin last night gutted a six-roomed bouse owned by Mrs McKay, who was absent in Wellington, the house being unoccupied. A young daughter went through, the house earlier in the evening, when all was in order.
