CLAUDELANDS STOCK SALE. The Farmers’ Co-operative Auctioneering Co., Ltd., Hamilton, report: —At our fortnightly sale at Claudelands on Thursday there was an average yarding of cattle and pigs and a small entry of sheep. Bidding throughout was keen, resulting In practically everything being cleared. Two pens of fat ewes brought 38s 6d, others' 3is 6d; fat hoggets 355. With the exception of one pen of steers, which could have carried more condition, £ll 3s, the beef was composed of cows, which sold readily, best selling from £7 to £9 15s; other good cows £5 to £6 15s; forward cows £3 to £4 15s; store cows £1 to £3. The advertised annual draft on account of Mr J. Kelso of grade yearling Jersey heifers, created considerable attention and strong competition, the top pen bringing £8 10s and the others £5 15s to £7. Other well-grown Jersey and cross yearlings made £3 10s to £4 6s; Shorthorn and Holstein yearling heifers, £1 Gs to £2 ss. All good dairy heifers sold readily—best, close to profit and in milk, £lO to £ls; small and backward, £4 to £6 10s; good sorts, £7 to £9 15s. Auckland buyers secured all the best pigs, baconers making to £5 7s porkers £3 to £3 ss; weaners 14s to 15s. Waggon £2B; milk-cans £1 18s to £2.
