ANNUAL CONFERENCE. By Telegraph.—Press Association. AUCKLAND, Monday. The Railway Officers’ Institute Conference approved of extra payment for work between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m., and it appointed a committee to make recommendations in regard to penal rates between the hours mentioned. Remits urging that instead of time-off payment for overtime should be pressed for was negatived by 13 votes to 18, being a reversal of the decision of two previous conferences. TO-DAY’S PROCEEDINGS. o AUCKLAND, Tuesday. The Railway Officers’ Conference adopted resolutions asking tiie A.S.R.S. and E.F.C.A. to co-operate in obtaining increased pensions for widows, and that compulsory retirement be enforced .after 40 years' service or 00 years of age.
