THE LIQUOR PROBLEM.

AMERICA'S EXPERIMENT. VIEWS OF MR LLOYD GEORGE. Australian and N.Z. Cable Assn. Received June 25, 11.45 a.m. LONDON, June 24. Mr Lloyd George, speaking at the Baptist Chapel at London, said he hoped the people will not become excited over America's seizure of liquor from British ships. The United States seemed to be acting within her rights, and certainly- deserved sympathy, as she is making the boldest experiment ever attempted to deal with modern civilisation's greatest curse. The experiment might wholly succeed, or might have to be modified, but it should be given a fair trial. If America succeeded in any way in dealing with the problem, she would deserve the whole world's gratitude.
