EASTERN CRISIS.

TURKS STUBBORN. POLICY OF CONCILIATION. NEGOTIATIONS REFUSED.: Australian and N.Z. Cable Assn. LAUSANNE, June 24. The Allied delegates to the Near East Conference discussed with the Turkish representatives for three hours the question of concessions without receiving the slightest satisfaction, the Turks persisting that instructions from Angora prevented their acceptance of any reference to future negotiations between concessionaries and the Turkish Government, i

Sir Horace Rumbold, the British delegate, said that the British Government had received telegrams from Ave of the most considerable English companies holding concessions under contract with Turkey, stating that they could not reach any agreement with the Turks and asking the British Government to take their interests in hind. The companies were the National Bank of Turkey, Messrs Armstrong and Vickers, the Eastern Telegraph Company, the Smyrna Gas Company, and the Borax Mining Company. The Allies attempted to obtain an assurance that as soon as the Peace Treaty was signed negotiations would be proceeded with on the basis of protecting European interests in Turkey, but this suggestion met with* a flat refusal.
