HAMILTON ORPHANS.
A HAPPY GATHERING. .. The fortnighUy gathering of tfaa Hamilton Orphans' Club took place in Alexandra Hall on Saturday night. There was a good attendance of members and friends, including the president (Mr A. Hodgson) and several members of the Cambridge Club. Mr J. MeKinnon occupied the chair, and was in particularly happy mood. The orchestra, which now numbers about 20, under the baton of Mr H. Piper, rendered several selections in good style. During the evening songs were given by Messrs Du Flou, Norman, Evans and Haigti, elocutionary items by Mr Parlane, and Scotch songs by Mr J. Gray (Cambridge). Mr Quinlan drew some very clever lightning sketches of local celebrities, and Mr Rodden entertained with some lifelike imitations of animals and birds.. It was a most entertaining programme. The secretary, Mr R, P. Hajcoci, announced that 10 new members had been admitted that night, making about 50 new members for the year. The total roll is now nearly 300.
