NEW COLLIERY VILLAGE.

OFFICIAL OPENING. TO TAKE PLACE NEXT MONTH. At the annual district meeting of Taupiri suppliers to the New Zealand Co-operative Dairy Company held at Taupiri last evening, Mr A. J. Sinclair, assistant manager, stated that the company's coal mine at Glen Afton, Huntly, had commenced, operations this morning, and that the whole "of the capital cost of the mine had been found by the company's suppliers. The official opening of the coal mine would take place some time next month, and arrangements were being made to, run special trains to Huntly, as it was anticipated that'' several hundred dairy farmers would attend. Mr Sinclair expressed the opinion that the company's anticipations in connection with the coal mine would more than realised, and that a very substantial reduction would be brought about in tlie cost of manufacturing butter, cheese, casein, and milk-powder.
