A young- Hungarian engineer named Dezsoffy has invented an apparatus for extracting electric current from file air at small expense. The chief feature of the device is a mast similar to those used in wireless telegraphy. The electric energy gained from the air varies according to the height of the mast. DezsofTy claims to-be able to reach 40,000 volts 0L a height of 900 f- Several houses have been fitted with the apparatus. It has been observed that the current is strongest at noon and weakest at midnight. The Government is placing a workshop at tiie disposal of the inventor.
