A MURDEROUS NEGRO.

WHOLESALE SHOOTING. SEVERAL PERSONS WOUNDED. WOMAN DIES FROM FRIGHT. Australian and N.Z. Cable Assn. NEW YORK, March 8. A/telegram from Spencer (Tennessee) reports that a farm owned by Mr Hasten, Tennessee State Secretary, was the scene of wholesale shooting by a negro convict who bad been liberated on parole. The negro called i/.r Haston’s brother to the door and wounded him. He then fired at several persons who were rushing to the scene, wounding the Secretary's mother and three neighbours. The'mother will probably die. Others are severely injured. Mr ttaston’s sister-in-law dropped diiad from fright when the shooting began.

The negro escaped and is being pursui d by the sheriff’s posse.
