MOTOR CAR OVERTURNED
A FOOTBALLER INJURED, - CAMBRIDGE, Saturday. A car load of Putaruru footballers and their manager (Mr Mat. Henderson) had a miraculous escape from serious injury to-day. They were journeying from Putaruru to Cambridge to take part in the representative Rugby match at the latter place, and were rounding a corner at Ferguson's Gully (about eight miles from Cambridge) when their car came into a collision with another car, driven by a lady in the footballers' car being overturned. Two occupants (Messrs D. Furey and Allen) were pinned underneath. Willlams received a nasty gash in the head from the windscreen, and luckily the injuries of the others were found to be of a less serious nature — scratches and bruises only. The car was badly damaged, the mud guards, lamps and windscreens suffering the worst. The engine was found to be in working' order after the accident, and the journey was continued to Cambridge. The occupants made light of their experiences. Wiillams was able to take his place in the match.
