PURSE SNATCHING

LADY TRAVELLER'S PREDICAMENT WELLINGTON, Friday. On Wednesday evening a lady boarded the tramcar at Lambton Station in order to proceed to Thorndon to catch the express for Auckland. On reaching the station she found that her purse had been stolen. It contained £SO and two train tickets for Auckland. The only other passenger to alight from the car was a woman who left it at the Davis street stop, and disappeared into the darkness along that thoroughfare.
