The programme presented at the Strand Picture Theatre last night was of verj' great merit, and held the attention of a large audience throughout. Norma Talmadge, most popular of all stars, who can always be relied on for tense work, was seen in one of her most recent releases, ’ “The Passion Flower,” a story of love, intrigue an 1 romance, acted in striking settings. It was one of the best pictures of the year. Larry Sernon, the really funny comedian, presented “Solid Concrete,” Which was a ‘scream’ from beginning to end. Other Interesting films made up a very satisfying programme, which will be repeated to-night. Seats should be reserved at the theatre, ’phone 1422.

THREE STARS AT "THE KING’S”

The outstanding merit of to-night's three-star features is so obvious that a packed theatre is a foregone conclusion, so that patrons would be well advised to reserve seats over ’phone 1580 before G-45 p.m. Wm. Russell, Fox’s famous star, will present the hit of his career, “The Cheater Reformed,” the greatest dual identity picture ever filmed. The play, one of unusual power, concerns two brothers —one a gaolbird, the other a clergyman l —and the dramatic episodes that arise arc startling. Scena Owen and a great cast support Wm. Russell. The popular Australienne, Louise Lovely, will show in "While the Devil Laughs,” a picture play of the realities of life in which she has achieved a real triumph. Eileen Sedgwick will continue her popular serial "The Diamond Queen." and Mr M. Spencer-Salt and Miss Lockwood will be heard in choice music selections.
