N.Z. FARMERS' UNION
MEETING AT TE AWAMUTU. The Te Awamutu sub-provincial executive of the N.Z. Farmers' Union yesterday considered the decision of the Auckland provincial executive in reference to the proposal to amalgamate with the Dairy Farmers' Union. The provincial, in its reply to the sub-provincial, stated, in effect, that 'I did not consider il necessary to work wdh the Dairy Farmers' Union. After discussing the. subject yesterday i' t was the opinion of members that the sub-provincial in Te Awamutu district had practically come to an end- The farmers were, not supporting it, and Lhcy could not carry on without finance. It was ttic opinion of the members vestcrdav that the sub-provincial had died a natural death, and that the Dairy Farmers' Union was getting the support or the farmers. It was carried unanimously by the meeting "that this sub-provincial forwards its resignation to the head office at Auckland, and seeing that the provincial could not amalgamate with (lie Dairy Farmers' Union, they as a subprovincial could not see their way clear to carry on "
