SERVICES TO BE RETAINED. BOARD TO CONTRIBUTE £2OO. The matter of the retention of a medical officer at KawTlia was again discussed by the Waikato Hospital Board yesterday. Mr Dent, the representative of that district, strenuously supported the necessity for a medical officer being stai-ioned in the area, and asked the Board to contribute £2OO towards the annual salary of the medical officer. This was supported by several other members of the Board, which eventually agreed that the doctor's sjrvtecs be retained at a salary of £6OO. Wlii'.e the salary remains up to the figure mentioned the Board will contribute £2OO. . The new arrangement is to take effect from September 1.
