QUEEN CARNIVAL

EXECUTIVE MEETING. A meeting of the executive of the above was held on Thursday night. Present: Messrs H. Ross, Tooman, Lawry, Kay, Fabling, Binnic, and the secretary (R. Johnston). Mr F. Binnie occupied the 'chair. The chairman reported that a permit for art unions had not yet been granted. Communication with the Under-Secretary of Internal Affairs was in progress, and the matter would shortly be arranged. The matter of organiser will be arranged this week. A letter was received from the Borough Council, granting the Rugby Union the right to erect temporary premises, providing the other organisation had equal rights. To avoid clashing it was decided that each organisation should hand in their programme to the executive. It was suggested that a grand procession be arranged. This will probably develop into something similar lo the recent Mardi Gras. Messrs H. C. Ross and F. Tooman were elected treasurers.
