V FORMIDABLE COMPETITION. (Australian and N.Z. Cable Assn.) LONDON, February 22. Mr F. G. Kelleway, in the House of Commons, said that, owing to the reduction in tin 1 export of British coal, British trade abroad had met with formidable competition in foreign markets by America and Japan. Though there was no evidence that European goods had displaced British in the Empire markels. the present indications are thai the British would be faced with serious competition.
