INCOME TAX PAYMENTS

The Minister 0 f Finance has had placed before him a suggestion that the payers of income tax should he allowed to make payments in two equal instalments. Mr Massey said his responsibility as Minister of Finance would not permit him lo make the concessions that were being asked. The division of the lax was not possible when the money was being collected right al the end of the financial year. If Ihe money was going to be paid by instalments then Ihe first instalment musl he paid early in the financial year.
